Spray Tan vs Tanning Lotion
So what is the best fake tan to use? Something that really bothers all of us when trying to find that even, long, lasting glow. Well unfortunately it is not as easy as just saying this is the one for you. The way it works is different for everyone so it is worth trying a few different types out. But I can help you narrow it down and explain the best methods of applying the fake tan product you have selected.
From my previous article 'What is Fake Tan?' you should now be up to speed with how it all works. So this is the starting point. Nobody knows your body better than you, what you skin is like and how it reacts to lotions and sprays. These are very important things to consider when looking for the right type; first a little on the two main applications along with their good points and bad points.
Spray Tan
The quick method of getting that lovely sun kissed look. The spray tan comes in many different sizes but, comes in an aerosol can. The can (just like deodorant) sprays out the product over the areas you desire. It is almost the same as when applying canned deodorant. It works almost instantly providing a fast and effective glow - usually great before a night out or a date. It comes with its problems too. You must let it dry before putting you precious clothes on or you will end up with a nasty brown stain that could confuse you date. HaHa been there done that, not good. Also make sure you spray it evenly otherwise you will look patchy, again done that. But really for me this is the best before a big night or when trying to make the right impression.
Tanning Lotion
This is the slower method to the lovely glow. This is what I use on a day to day basis. This builds up the tan and when applied evenly spreads neatly across the body and face. Just like a moisturising lotion it is the same application. Good to apply after a hot shower and please allow your body to dry of so you skin can soak up the beautiful sun kissed ointment. The problems with the lotion are that it does take time for the colour to build up and if you forget to apply at least twice a week then the effect is not so good. However, I think this is easy to manage and keep on top of.
As an easy summary for now those are the basics.
