Cosmetics After 40: How To Do It Right

ByEllen Tarnapolsky

As a woman, I understand the desire to remain young and beautiful. But every age comes with its own uniqueness and beauty. Just like it would be silly for a woman of 20 to try to look like she is 40, so it is silly for a woman of 40 to try to look like she is 20. This isn't just about the clothing we wear, but our make up should also be age appropriate. As we age, we need to change our style and everything that goes with it. Below are some tips and tricks about how to keep your make up fabulous for women over 40.

The term aging gracefully is underrated. A mature woman's make up needs are much different than what she needed when she was 20 or even 30. Her skin and hair has changed, as well as her eyes and her lips.

The first and most important thing you can do as a woman of any age is to take care of your skin. This means to hydrate! Drinking plenty of water now will ensure good skin in the future. The older you get, the more water you need, so drink up!

Before applying foundation or concealer, make sure your skin is properly moisturized. If your skin is dry, the foundation will make your skin appear even more dry and will make the new wrinkles on your skin stand out. It is best to use a very light foundation and concealer.

If you just love those glitter eye shadows and can't part with them, now is the time to pass them down to your daughter, niece or 20-something co-worker. Glitter eye shadow is a big no no for a woman that (I'm sorry to tell you this) has wrinkles on her eyes. The glitter will fall throughout the day and get stuck in between the tiny creases in your eyes, attracting even more attention to them. Your best bet is to go with a nice matte eye shadow. Applying eye cream before the shadow will make it stay on longer.

You may notice that your lips do not have the same pinkish hue that they once did. Well, this is the time to bring out that red and burgundy lipstick. Lip gloss or light pink lipstick may not look right on you anymore, so feel free to plump up your lips with lip liner and gloss as well.

Women that have reached the very special age of 40 should celebrate their age and beauty. This may require taking look in the mirror and asking if your look needs a change. Once you've found those items you just can't live without, buy it wholesale. It's nice to know you don't have to run to the store every time you run out of your favorite lipstick or mascara.

Buying make up from a cosmetics wholesaler is a great bargain for women of any age. Go to http://wholesalefashionsquare.com for all your cosmetics wholesaler needs.

Top Tips When Picking the Right Fake Tan for You!

Spray Tan vs Tanning Lotion

So what is the best fake tan to use? Something that really bothers all of us when trying to find that even, long, lasting glow. Well unfortunately it is not as easy as just saying this is the one for you. The way it works is different for everyone so it is worth trying a few different types out. But I can help you narrow it down and explain the best methods of applying the fake tan product you have selected.

From my previous article 'What is Fake Tan?' you should now be up to speed with how it all works. So this is the starting point. Nobody knows your body better than you, what you skin is like and how it reacts to lotions and sprays. These are very important things to consider when looking for the right type; first a little on the two main applications along with their good points and bad points.

Spray Tan

The quick method of getting that lovely sun kissed look. The spray tan comes in many different sizes but, comes in an aerosol can. The can (just like deodorant) sprays out the product over the areas you desire. It is almost the same as when applying canned deodorant. It works almost instantly providing a fast and effective glow - usually great before a night out or a date. It comes with its problems too. You must let it dry before putting you precious clothes on or you will end up with a nasty brown stain that could confuse you date. HaHa been there done that, not good. Also make sure you spray it evenly otherwise you will look patchy, again done that. But really for me this is the best before a big night or when trying to make the right impression.

Tanning Lotion

This is the slower method to the lovely glow. This is what I use on a day to day basis. This builds up the tan and when applied evenly spreads neatly across the body and face. Just like a moisturising lotion it is the same application. Good to apply after a hot shower and please allow your body to dry of so you skin can soak up the beautiful sun kissed ointment. The problems with the lotion are that it does take time for the colour to build up and if you forget to apply at least twice a week then the effect is not so good. However, I think this is easy to manage and keep on top of.

As an easy summary for now those are the basics.

Salons Need The Right Kinds Of Equipment To Meet The Needs Of Potential Customers

ByDanny Farmand

The prospect of gearing up for your salon's opening must be the next step after you've brought on board staff and rented a storefront. The move to open a salon was probably the easy part, but knowing what salon equipment to buy so that your business can get up and rolling may be a little confusing.

There are any number of sources you can go to when you want to buy salon supplies, but it's good to know what the basics are that you must have. The kinds of treatments, styling or services you provide will point the way to what you most need to buy first.

Locate some of the staple items that no salon can do business without, as well. Salons that provide waxing will, of course, need a large inventory of wax, as well as cloths for wax removal.

Waxing salons must invest in heating equipment that melts solid wax so that it can be applied to the patron's skin.

Pain-relieving crèmes and baby oil, which are often used at the end of waxing treatments, are important to have in stock. If your salon offers massages and facials, you'll need salon equipment such as massage tables for each room or station, and a good number of linens and towels for customers' comfort.

If you're offering facials, you'll need to stock up on scrubs, toners and creams and other products used for face masks and peels. For manicures and pedicures, your stations should be outfitted with nail files, clippers, nail polish remover and cotton, among other tools and equipment.

You might suppose that barber chairs are merely an after-thought, but your customers are going to enjoy the comfort of a good chair. Don't leave out the sanitary provisions, especially for hairstyling stations that must disinfect the tools of the trade after each customer.

Make sure that beauticians have enough equipment to complete all kinds of hair designs in each of their stations. It's a good idea to have a cabinet set aside to store hair dyes and bleaches that can keep them in a safe, controlled-temperature environment to prevent ruining the solutions.

Then, there are supplies that all salons should purchase, regardless of the kind of services they offer. You want to always keep your salon sparkling clean, so keep cleaning supplies on hand at all times to keep the customers returning.

You'll want to keep a cache of glass cleaner, rags, sponges, mops and brooms. Every station, regardless of the services you offer, should have spray disinfectant at hand.

Don't neglect the laundry, which will likely include the protective clothing employees wear over their own garments, and you'll need to keep them spotless.

How Do I Know If Laser Hair Removal Is Right for Me?

BySamantha Dunn

In 1999, the very first hair removal treatment was conducted in Massachusetts and the results found were positive. Of course, temporary hair removal programs have existed for a number of years, but the old system relies heavily on time and effort on your part. Nowadays, people prefer permanent solutions so as not to think twice about their hair issues. It is also convenient because it can be performed at any time and for any type of skin. One thing to be careful of is if you have cancer; you will first need to consult a doctor before undergoing laser hair removal. This is mainly because cancer patients have restrictions on the amount of radium waves they can be exposed to.

During the laser removal hair treatment process, a large amount of heat will be generated. Due to this fact, you may be nervous or concerned about the safety of the treatment. There is no need to worry, as the laser will be focused only to a particular area of the skin. The treatment duration can last anywhere from three to six hours depending upon the amount of hair to be removed and the patient's condition. Many people who have had the treatment can tell you that the process is relatively painless and that there are no side effects. While laser hair removal treatment is expensive, it is a permanent solution and extremely effective for all your hair removal needs. You will likely find after undergoing your treatment that you will suggest the same for your friends and family members.

When the treatment is completed, you can be sure that all hair growth will be stopped in the desired area or areas. Once and for all, you will be rid of your unwanted hair and you can be satisfied that your one time investment for the treatment was well spent. After completion, you can go on with your life, without the pain or hassle of skin allergies or skin disorders post-treatment. It is also good to note that the hair removal can be performed on any part of the body and the charges are based on your individual portions. For example, if you wished to remove hair from your arms the rate would be different than if you wanted to remove hair from your feet. With this safe and effective medical treatment, you will not regret that you chose to remove unsightly hair for good.

Laser Hair Removal - Is It Right For You?

ByLinda Gibson

The majority of hair removal methods developed for the market these days are temporary methods. They work for a short period of time then they need to be repeated. Some of these methods last longer than others, for example waxing lasts significantly longer than shaving, but all of them have an expiration date.

As a counterpoint there are two methods that are classified as "permanent" and claim that when you undergo them you'll never need to perform a hair removal treatment again. These two methods are electrolysis and laser treatments. Read on to learn about how laser treatments work and whether they're right for you.

While it sounds futuristic the most important thing you need to remember about laser treatment is the fact that it's very, very simple. A laser is nothing more than a concentrated beam of light, and laser treatment doesn't involve anything more than focusing that light so it goes through your skin and hits the roots of your hair follicles. Because the light in a laser is concentrated it holds a lot of energy that it essentially injects into your hair follicle. That energy builds and transforms into heat which denatures and "kills" the hair follicle, causing it to fall out and never grow back.

Compared to many other hair removal procedures, and compared to electrolysis specifically, laser treatments are very fast. That's because with laser hair removal your technician will be able to target and denature hundreds of hair follicles at a time. In a lot of ways laser hair removal is to electrolysis what waxing is to tweezing. Instead of taking hours and hours a sitting, laser hair removal treatments rarely take more than twenty minutes. Very large body parts, like backs and legs, can take a few hours per treatment but these are the exception instead of the rule. Regardless of what body part you're having treated expect to go in for multiple sessions.

There was a time when laser treatments didn't work with every skin & hair type, but these days the technology has progressed to the point where everyone who wants to get laser hair removal can do so. Some skin and hair tones work better than others but all are eligible.

While laser hair removal is a simple procedure it is a very technical one which means that it needs to be performed by a licensed technician at a fully equipped laser treatment facility.

Overall laser treatments for removing excess hair are extremely safe. You aren't going to suffer from any radiation lingering in your body and you aren't going to have to worry that the lasers are going to cause any permanent damage to your skin. It's certainly possible that you'll experience a little bit of redness, swelling or sensitivity on your treated skin, but overall laser treatments are going to cause any significant or permanent damage. The treatment itself is often painless when undergoing it as well, though some people experience mild discomfort throughout the entire session. Because sessions don't last long this isn't a problem for most people.

Protecting Your Skin the Right Way

ByGeorge Hamhill

Did you realize that the largest organ in the body was the skin? Your body uses this organ in order to "breathe" and to get rid of many different toxins which may enter into your body, many times through the foods that we eat and the water that we are drinking. The skin is also the first thing that people recognize when they see you face to face. That is why it is very important for you to make sure that you are taking care of your skin at all times because when you do, it is going to take care of you.

The fact of the matter is, skin care is not only something that takes place before the damage occurs to your skin but it is also something that takes place after the damage has occurred as well. After all, the skin is what is exposed to the physical elements around us, more than any other part of our body. Unfortunately, the world that we live in is not always very kind to our skin and there are many different problems that we need to be concerned about regularly. This would include damage that could occur because of exposure to the elements, such as the wind and the sun as well as any exposure to damaging toxins that may be in the air around us.

As far as taking control of the care of your skin when you are considering the sun, this is something that is going to be an ongoing battle throughout your entire life. Fortunately, with products such as NIA24 Sunscreen, it does get a bit easier. The reason why it is important to use a product such as this is because you are using something that is natural and gentle. The last thing that you would want to do when you were trying to protect your skin from the damaging effects from the sun is to introduce an element which could damage the skin on its own. Unfortunately, that is the case with many of the sun protection products that are available on the market.

Another product which has gone a long way in helping individuals to protect their skin from the damage that can occur as a result of the sun is Elta MS Skincare. This UV protectant carries an SPF of 14 but there are also many other options that are available in this line which can help with your skin in many other ways as well. Some of them are moisturizers which not only help to add some of the moisture which may be lacking due to exposure to the sun, but they also contain SPF protection as well.

Keeping your skin free from the damage of the sun will help to minimize some of the aging process and keep you youthful and healthy looking. It will also keep your skin healthy, allowing it to do its job which is really a fundamental part of taking care of your body. Be sure that you use high quality products on your skin and you will be giving it the best opportunity to take care of you for the long term.

The Right Hairstyle for Face Shape

ByAndrey Belkin

First thing you should know when choosing the right hairstyle is your face shape. While your hairstylist can help you find out what face shape you have and will do you hair in the best way, that flatters your natural beauty, the information below will help give you some first tips that you should take into consideration before your visit to a barber or stylist. Now, let's quickly run through the face shapes and the adjustments that you can make with your haircut to gain some balance and improve your look.

A square face: when having such a face shape, you should wear the top longer that the sides and it should be styled a little bit higher. At the same time, the sides must be leaner and short. The hairdo must mirror the shape of the face, so keep your hair clean.

A long face: here to get the necessary balance you should wear a style that has longer sides and shorter top. You can have a hair cut with layers and a disguised front hairline. Men can go with a neat beard that will provide them with some more balance, but be careful not to let your facial hair grow too long, as it will immediately make your face even longer. Glasses - another way of dividing face and taking the focus off the length.

A round face: Full and round hairdos - definitely not you choice, as it'll add even more roundness to your face. If the sides are leaner, and the hair is higher at the top and front, you'll get more balance. Square hairstyles wonderfully match round faces. To get rid of the roundness you can experiment with waves or an off-centre part.

An oval face: If you have this type of shape, you are lucky, as it is often called an ideal shape. You've got the whole variety of choices, as almost every style will suit you. Here pay more attention to the other face features the position of the eyes or nose shape.

A diamond face: your aim is to balance wide cheekbones and narrow chin and forehead. Bangs and long shag hairstyles will help you to do that.

A triangular face: pick a hairstyle that will make your chin appear wider and forehead area narrower. Bangs swept to one side or an offset part will help you. A wonderful option is a beard.

Apart from the face shapes described above (which are considered most common), there exist also a few that are more rare, some of them are: pear, triangular and diamond. Most of us represent the most common categories, while others have more challenge in choosing a hairdo. Here are some tips for you.

You've got a pear shape, if your face is wider at the bottom. So, the needed balance you can get by wearing hair fuller at the temples. Diamond shape is the one when a person has wide cheeks. The solution is leaner style, narrow at the cheeks. To distract the attention from a pointed chin, wear bangs swept to the side. A beard is also a variant, but remember that you should take care of it, and it must always be neatly trimmed.

Certainly, it is not an easy thing to determine your own face shape yourself. You might get everything wrong and choose a terrible hairdo. So, consult your barber or stylist. He will help you pick a hairstyle that will make you look great.

Searching for the right hairdo is not an easy task, so what you'll need is much information. Here hairstylesfor.blogspot.com you will find some useful tips on hair styling.

Choosing the Right Dry Scalp Shampoo for You

BySteve D White

Before buying a cosmetic product, people should really do some research concerning their needs and their body's requests. If you choose something that doesn't suit your scalp, you could make worse the existing problem. Either you want to buy creams, beauty products or shampoos, always make sure you choose the right type for you. Do not let yourself influenced by commercials you see on TV or by the choices of your friends, and try buying whatever suits you best.

When going shopping for shampoo, take into consideration what type of hair you have. It can be dry, normal or oily. Dry hair is caused by sun exposure, chemical products and treatments, electric curlers, hair dryers, cold air or wrong kinds of shampoos. In certain situations it's not your fault that your hair is dry and damaged. Your scalp may not have enough oil glands, they might be inactive or not able to reach the surface because of the blocked pores. Choosing the right shampoo for this type of hair is in this case very important. Before doing that, make sure you identify the problem by consulting a dermatologist. The doctor is the one who can tell you for sure why you have the problems you do. It might be because of your diet, everyday life, harmful vices or just because you wash it too often with the wrong products.

Dry hair needs more attention than any other kind of hair. It must be nourished and well taken care of. Mild shampoos should be used along with mask treatments. You should also try to massage the scalp a couple of times a week with some herbal oil. This will cause the protein layer of the scalp to be released and the hair to regain back its beauty. If you have enough time, also try to make some masks for your hair at home. Try combining olive oil and coconut and massage the mixed obtained on your hair. The results will not cease to appear if you do it at least once a week. If you do not have the time to do that, then at least be careful when buying a shampoo.

Read the label to see the ingredients it contains. Dry hair and scalp shampoo should include elements as coal tar and salicylic acid. But when using them, only apply some on the scalp, because they might damage the rest of your hair. After washing it out, also apply a conditioner. Let it function for five minutes, and then wash your scalp again. Keep in mind that shampoos that foam do not necessarily work. Producers that create these products use ingredients that give the foaming effect just to fool the customers. The right shampoo for dry scalp may take a while to find, but it's all worth it. After using it for some time, you will be able to see the result and be totally pleased. If they do not appear, then your problem might be worse than it seems. For that, you should consult a specialist and he will recommend a treatment.

Waking Up to Perfect Hair Every Day With the Right Keratin Hair Treatment

ByFaryal Arshad

Keratin hair treatment is a relatively new technique that provides women and men with up to three months of straight hair. It is Brazilian in origin, and most of the keratin-based products still come from that region. Who can benefit from such a treatment, and are there any health risks?

What does the term "keratin" mean? Keratin is a protein that is found naturally in the body, specifically in the hair and nails. This protein is used by hair stylists to revive hair and make it stronger. Apart from the straightening effect, a keratin treatment has a deep conditioning effect as well.

In most regions, during the summer the air is dry, and hair does not frizz as much. But as fall gets closer and rain begins to fall on a regular basis, the humidity drastically increases. This is a big problem for women and men with frizzy hair. Spending over an hour every morning on straightening hair can be wasted by just a few rain drops. Keratin hair treatment provides a semi-permanent solution. The effects of such a procedure last up to three months.

Many women have to deal with frizzy hair on a daily basis. This means that they can benefit from a keratin conditioning. But are there any health risks? In order get locked inside the hair, keratin needs to be mixed with formaldehyde. This is where the controversy of using such a straightening method comes. Used in high concentration, formaldehyde can be dangerous and cause eye irritation, nose bleeds, headaches, itching, etc. This is why a keratin treatment should have about 2% formaldehyde only. Salons or products who claim that their procedures last longer than three months have usually exceeded the 2% mark. They should be avoided.

Without formaldehyde, keratin will not have a long lasting effect. Products that claim to be formaldehyde-free are, bluntly put, lying. Managing the concentration of formaldehyde is essential, and treatments with about 2% are the right choice.

Keratin hair treatment is a great time saver for many people. Both men and women can benefit from such a procedure. After the procedure, the hair should not be washed for 72 hours. On average, a treatment costs around $300. This is a good price, because it lasts for up to three months. Keratin is naturally found in the hair and nails. This is why such styling procedures are beneficial to each individual hair. Sometimes they are also used as hair repair solutions.
