Remedies For Frizzy Hair

ByShannon Adrian

Trying to find that really work can be very frustrating. I know firsthand how difficult it is to deal with hair that is excessively dry and frizzy, and how expensive and time-consuming it can be to try to fix the problem. Fortunately, there are some things you can do to help solve the problem and avoid the damage that causes frizzy hair in the first place.

Frizzy Hair Remedies Start With Prevention

The quickest way to improve frizzy hair is to stop doing the things that are damaging it. Prevention is a much cheaper option than expensive products and treatments to fix the damage. Here are a few ways to improve the health of your hair:

• If you can help it, do not wash your hair every day. Shampoo is actually a very harsh product to use on your hair. It strips away the natural nourishing oils and results in drying, dandruff, and frizziness. It then requires us to add moisture in the form of conditioners and conditioning treatments. Try to only shampoo your hair a couple times a week and use the most gentle shampoo you can find for your hair type.

• When you do wash your hair, press it dry with a towel instead of roughing it up. This will help keep it smooth and easier to brush out.

• After drying your hair gently with a towel, try using your fingers to get the tangles out instead of a comb or brush. Brushing wet hair can stretch and break it, so it is best to brush it very gently if using your fingers won't work. You can also try using large, wide-tooth combs, which tend to be a little more gentle than brushes.

• Keep your hair moisturized by using a good conditioner in the shower and by doing weekly or monthly hot oil treatments. You do not need to spend a lot of money on these. I use a homemade olive oil treatment that works very well and it ends up being much less expensive than store-bought oil treatments.

• Avoid heating products such as curling irons, flat irons, and blow-dryers. Since one of the main causes of frizziness is hair that is too dry, you do not want to dry it out even further by adding unnecessary heat. Occasional use is okay, but frequent use will cause damage.

• Get regular trims to help keep split ends away. The reason many people appear to have hair that is frizzy at the ends is because of split ends (and because that hair at the tips is the oldest and has been through rough treatment the longest). Keeping your hair trimmed regularly will help avoid that look.

We all know there are a lot of on the market, whether you opt for homemade conditioners or expensive salon treatments. While prevention is probably the best overall option, you can not avoid all damage to your how, no matter how diligent you are. The key to finding the right solutions is to experiment and find which ones work best for your particular hair type and budget.

Products to Help Manage Frizzy Hair

ByCL Murphy

Frizzy, unruly hair can be a big problem and fixing it can be even more difficult. There are many products out there but finding the right one for you can be a difficult and expensive endeavor. Aussie products are one choice that is inexpensive and easy to find. Modern Organic products leave in conditioner is another choice that is more expensive. Terax Hydrate Botanicals leave in moisturizer is a high end product that can be harder to find. Last but not least Matrix Biolage hair care products are high end and found in salons.

You can find Aussie products in almost any retail store. They are inexpensive and they have a variety of products for frizzy hair. They also offer a hair care selector online and you can put in your hair type and what you want your hair to do and they will recommend a product line for you. The product line for frizzy hair is Aussie's Cleanse and Mend and the Moist collection. They have a vast majority of shampoos, conditioners and leave in products.

Modern Organic Products leave in conditioner is another option. If you want a natural organic choice and are not put off by the price then this is your choice. It has a bunch of natural antioxidants to protect from life's harsh realities. This includes sun, wind, blow drying and pollutions. This product also helps detangle hair which is a problem with frizzy hair when you are trying to comb or style it into a hairstyle.

Terax Hydrate Botanical Leave in Moisturizer hydrates and moisturizes hair and smoothes down frizzy hair. It also softens curls and is lightweight. Because it is a moisturizer it is good for hair that is difficult to comb through after a shower. It is a high end product and many people do not like the scent.

Matrix Biolage hair care is used in salons all over. It can be pricey but offers to smooth the frizz, even in ninety seven percent humidity. Humidity is a huge factor with frizz and this claim makes this product worth the money. The best products for frizzy hair in this collection are the Smooththerapie collection. It smoothes frizzy and unruly hair. This collection uses the camellia flower seeds in their products to combat frizzy hair. It works in hot and humid seasons and in dry and cool seasons. It is the perfect hair care choice if your hair suffers when there is a lot of humidity. Most people who suffer from frizzy hair suffer more during high humidity.

Whether you go the retail route, online or in salons you can find the product that is just right for you. Frizzy and unruly hair does not have to be a part of your life. Spending time detangling your tresses can be a thing of the past. You can find a product that will put your hair back in style or as Aussie would say, "Put some Roo in your Do".
