Simple Tips for Beauty

Attaining the highest levels of beauty is the aim of almost every woman. Some people might find it pretentious but I have always found it important to look and feel beautiful. In this article I offer some very simple and basic beauty tips that go a long way in enabling one to achieve their desired attraction.

Many people rely extensively on makeup to look beautiful and are sometimes are too dependent on it for their needs. However it must be mentioned that makeup is really something artificial and sufficient care needs to be taken so that it is used in the best way possible. After all, makeup should only be approached as an 'enhancer' that enhances the innate beauty. There are many cases where the over-application of makeup can result in various ailments for the skin, which then has to be treated on its own. Thus, instead of making one look beautiful, makeup creates trouble for us! Focus then, should be shifted to more natural ways of enhancing ones beauty.

One of the most everlasting and time-tested beauty tips is to drink lots of water. We all know that 70 percent of our body is water and the same holds true for our skin. Hence it is only natural that we take care of keeping this ratio constant for our skin. Doing so keeps the skin plump and moisturized, and in this way is better able to fight of the dryness that so often plagues it, giving it a parched look. When there is sufficient moisture in our skin it also looks fresh rather than dull.

Sleeping is also one of the most essential regimens for attaining beauty. They say that one should sleep at least 9 hours a day and such sleep is known as beauty sleep. Sleeplessness has one of the most disastrous effects on the skin. The clearest indication of sleeplessness comes in the form of dark circles that develop around our eyes. Not only that, our skin also looks dull and does not radiate light well, just as in the case of not drinking enough water.

Finally, muscles in our face play a large part in maintaining the healthy glow and texture of our face. We should always try basic massage techniques that loosen up muscles in the skin. We do not need to spend too much time doing this. Just spending five minutes in the morning with this regimen would do.

In the end, who can forget the benefits of smiling as far as the muscles in our face go. Smiling after all, they say is the best exercise for the face. It needs no effort, just a happy, positive demeanor. So these beauty tips have almost no side-effects and keep levels of our beauty high!

A Simple Solution To Eliminate Bad Hair Days

ByMarisa Kahn

Hair, like the skin likes a balance between nourishment and purification. While most people will carry out regular treatments to deep clean and clarify their skin, and even their bodies, they will never even consider a similar procedure for their hair and scalp.

The hair and scalp, like the skin is also susceptible to a build up of chemicals and impurities that regular shampooing cannot remove. Most of us love to use moisturising shampoos and nourishing serums, especially if we have dry hair. But when used regularly over a long period of time these products can leave residues on the hair and scalp.

Of course, deep conditioning and moisturising is vital in keeping the hair protected and nourished. But when no clarifying treatments are carried out, the result is dull, lifeless hair and a unbalanced scalp as both are covered in a veil of product residues.

On the other hand insufficient or absence of conditioning after shampooing leaves the hair unmanageable, dry and susceptible to damage from the elements.

When the hair is balanced by deep cleansing and regular intensive conditioning, it is full of bounce, shine and lustre. The hair and scalp can be effectively deep cleansed and detoxified by using a clarifying shampoo once a month. This will ensure all dead skin and impurities from the scalp and hair are completely removed resulting in soft shiny hair and a healthy scalp.

A totally natural hair and scalp purifying remedy is Amla, or Indian Gooseberry powder. This is a truly miraculous herb for the skin and hair. It is exceptionally high in antioxidants and Vitamin C, and has been used in the Indian subcontinent in various ways to promote healthy hair and skin for centuries.
Simply mixing a quarter teaspoon of powdered Amla to your regular shampoo will effectively and gently remove build up from the hair and scalp.

Another effective and simple hair and scalp clarifier is Moroccan Rhassoul Clay. This ancient cleanser and purifier is an excellent choice for removing product build up from the hair and scalp. Again the same method applies, mixing a quarter teaspoon to your regular shampoo should do the trick.

Some points to remember when doing a hair and scalp detox:

Always follow a detox treatment with a deep conditioner.
Detox treatments should not be done more than twice a month, excessive deep clarifying of the hair and scalp can lead to dry hair and irritated scalp.
Detox treatments are not recommended for excessively dry, porous and processed hair.
All product should be thoroughly removed after treatment.

Shaving - A Simple, Cost Effective Form of Hair Removal

ByLinda Gibson

There's no more traditional and widely practiced form of hair removal than shaving. For most people shaving is the first form of hair removal that they ever undergo and for many people it remains the only method that they ever utilize. While there are plenty of other hair removal methods out there, and while some of them are arguably superior to shaving, it's highly unlikely that any of them will ever overtake this classic.

Shaving works in a very, very simple process. All you do is take a razor, apply some shaving cream and then glide it over the body part that you want to make hairless. Shaving works by cutting down the sharp tip at the end of the hair and making the top of the shaft of the hair even with your skin. Unlike waxing, tweezing, sugaring or other similar methods that pull the hair out by its root, shaving only removes hair at the surface level. This means that hair grows back a lot faster when shaving it than when removing it through other methods. Consequently, shaving offers the potential for producing ingrown hairs, but it also means that (as long as you don't cut yourself) shaving is a completely painless process, even for people with sensitive skin.

How well you're able to shave depends a lot on the blade that you choose to shave with. In general the sharper the blade the more effective it's going to be at cutting your hairs, but also the more dangerous it is to handle. Traditional blades follow the model of the straight razor- a sharp cutting edge without a guard on any side the folds out from a solid handle. After the straight razor came the double-edged safety razor which provided a very sharp and disposable blade that was guarded on either side by a metal top piece that prevented deep cuts when shaving. More recent razors utilize multi-blade technology, they feature multiple guards and can contain flexible and contoured heads.

Perhaps the biggest shaving question to answer after deciding what type of blade to use is whether you are going to shave with or against the grain. To make the matter simple- shaving with the grain is safer and less likely to cause skin irritation but also often leaves a little bit of stubble, while shaving against the grain produces a closer shave that's more likely to result in bumps, cuts and ingrown hairs.

No matter which direction you choose to shave in it's important that you always shave when your skin is properly warmed up and wet to make your skin soft and to offer a layer of liquid protection between the blade and your skin. Using some sort of shaving cream or soap is also a great idea, and applying a moisturizing treatment will help protect your now-sensitive skin.

As a final note while there are many electric razors out there these days they function very different from blade-based shaving and don't produce nearly the same level of closeness, though they are generally more convenient to use for a quick buzz.
